In the US, Doctor Grandmother Abandoned Her Grandchild to Death
The 10‑month‑old baby who should have been left at daycare stayed eight hours in a scorching hot car because the doctor grandmother forgot. The horrific neglect cost the little baby its life.

In the United States state of Kentucky, a 10‑month‑old Scottie Gwyn Crowell lost her life in a car left in the workplace parking lot after her grandmother forgot to drop her off at daycare. An investigation into the baby's death after remaining in the vehicle for about eight hours is ongoing.
The horrific neglect that occurred in the United States state of Kentucky took the life of a 10‑month‑old baby. Dr. Stacey Fazenbaker, after picking up her grandson Scottie Gwyn Crowell in the morning, forgot to drop him off at daycare and went straight to the health center where she works. The little baby remained strapped in the car's back seat for about eight hours.

The Truth Emerged When the Father Went to Daycare
The incident occurred in the parking lot of Owensboro Health Multicare health center in the city of Madisonville. That morning, Fazenbaker had offered to pick up her grandson from home and take him to daycare.
When Scottie's father went to the daycare around 4:00 p.m. to pick up his daughter, he learned that the baby had not been taken to the facility that day. Consequently, the family realized that 61‑year‑old Fazenbaker had gone straight to work without stopping at the daycare.
The Temperature Inside the Car Reached 46 Degrees
Following the news, it was reported that the grandmother ran to the parking lot with her coworkers and found the baby in the back seat of the car. That day, the ambient temperature in the area reached 35°C, while the temperature inside the closed car rose to about 46°C.
Police teams that arrived at the scene intervened to revive Scottie, but rescuing the small baby was not possible.
From the Madisonville Police Department, Captain Jason McKnight said that when the teams arrived the baby had been removed from the car, adding, "Life‑saving interventions were carried out, but unfortunately it was already too late."
No Charges Yet Against the Grandmother
Police launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. While Fazenbaker underwent alcohol and drug testing, officials said they did not expect the results to be positive.

The doctor has not yet charged the grandmother. Police announced that once all details of the incident come to light, the file could be presented to a grand jury. The exact cause of death of little Scottie will be determined by the forthcoming autopsy.
Fazenbaker was reported to have moved to Madisonville about a year ago to be closer to his 33‑year‑old daughter, Sydni Crowell, who is also an obstetrician. It was noted that the family's second child, Scottie, was born via in‑vitro fertilization on September 20, 2025.
