In the shared footage, the Prime Air drone is seen hovering over the customer's pool and dropping its package directly into the water from a cutout in the lower section.

This is not the first incident involving a package falling into water during Amazon's drone deliveries. Last year in Arizona, a drone, while attempting to leave a package by the poolside, had the package dragged into the pool by the airflow generated by its propellers.

Drone deliveries had previously come to the forefront.

In another incident that occurred in May, an Amazon drone dropped a package into an area near a pond. After striking the ground, the package bounced and rolled into the water.

Prime Air's fleet had also been in the news over other incidents. After two MK30 drones collided with a crane, Amazon temporarily halted drone deliveries in the Phoenix area. It had also been reported that the company's drones had previously severed an internet cable and struck an apartment building.

The incident that occurred while Amazon was preparing to expand its drone deliveries to 500 cities across the United States brought the technology's application in delivery processes back into focus.
