Dog lost in Oklahoma found 1.100 miles away
The 10-year-old Australian Shepherd dog Rio, who escaped from his home in Oklahoma, was found in North Carolina, 1.100 miles away, about two weeks later. Thanks to its microchip, the dog was located and returned to its owner.

Melissa Burris, who lives in Tulsa and adopted Rio last year, had the dog escape from home on July 30.
Despite days of searching, the missing dog was spotted by a citizen in Greensboro about two weeks later and taken to a shelter.
Thanks to a microchip check at the shelter, Rio was reunited with his owner. Burris went to North Carolina after receiving a call on August 11.
1,100-mile return trip
Burris, who received Rio, drove about 1,100 miles in the rental car and returned to Oklahoma with the dog.
