The Toilet Paper Prank in the U.S. Ends Bloodily

In the city of Joliet, in the U.S. state of Illinois, a group of young people who were joking by throwing toilet paper at houses encountered an unexpected incident. The Will County Sheriff's Office announced that the incident occurred just before 22.00 on Friday night around the intersection of Byrum Road and Hel Mar Lane.
First Group Disputed with Homeowners
According to information relayed by officials, a group of young people threw toilet paper at a house in the area as a joke. When the residents encountered the youths, a dispute broke out and the incident escalated into a physical fight. The youths then headed toward their vehicles, but it was reported that their cars were damaged.
Second Group Appeared in the Same Area
Independently of the first incident, another group of young people parked their vehicles in the same area to throw toilet paper at another house in a similar manner. While getting out of the vehicle, the youths said they saw at least three people approaching them and that lights resembling laser beams were present on them.
Hit While Getting Out of the Vehicle
While the youths were attempting to get back into their vehicle, one of them reported being shot. Will County officials said the youth was wounded in the chest area and that the injury did not pose a life‑threatening danger. The wounded youth was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Weapon Determined to Be a High‑Powered Air Rifle
Police said the youth was injured by a discharge from a high‑powered air rifle. It was clarified that the weapon used in the incident was not a firearm, but a high‑powered air rifle.
Investigation Continues
The Will County Sheriff's Office said the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Officials have not yet provided detailed information about the identity of those who fired the air rifle or potential charges related to the incident.
