Massive Drug Investigation Around That University in the U.S.

In the U.S., a drug investigation conducted around Penn State University in Pennsylvania has brought charges against 14 people. In the inquiry announced by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, it was reported that 13 of the suspects were current or former students of the university at the time the incidents occurred. According to officials, the charges are linked to a cocaine network alleged to have operated in 2023 and 2024.

Cocaine was brought from New York and Philadelphia.

According to court documents, the network’s two main suppliers regularly traveled to New York and Philadelphia to procure large quantities of cocaine. It was alleged that the drug was later brought to the State College area and released onto the market through a distribution network targeting Penn State students.

The Names of Two Fraternity Houses Were Changed.

At the center of the investigation are two fraternity houses outside the university campus. Officials alleged that cocaine was manufactured, packaged, and then distributed through students at houses affiliated with Sigma Chi and Delta Upsilon. Penn State temporarily removed Delta Upsilon, while stating that Sigma Chi is not an organization recognized by the university.

Allegation that Students Were Forced to Package.

One of the most striking allegations in the file is that some fraternity members and newly admitted students used cocaine in the process of cutting and packaging it. Officials claimed that some students were included in these activities as part of the fraternity admission process.

Different Charges Against 14 People

In the case, the defendants face various charges. Four individuals are confronted with serious charges of operating within a criminal organization, conspiracy, and income derived from illegal activities. Another person is charged with conspiracy and the use of a communication tool for criminal purposes under serious offenses, while eight people face misdemeanor-level charges for drug possession.

A Student's Father Also Charged

In the investigation, the father of one of the students, Paul Robinson, was also charged separately. Authorities alleged that Robinson tried to conceal evidence, including a case containing drugs and cash, and accused him of tampering with evidence, obstructing arrest, and impeding the investigation.

Statement From Penn State Arrived

Penn State administration announced that a temporary expulsion decision had been made against Delta Upsilon following the investigation. Delta Upsilon officials said that members linked to the incident had been expelled from the fraternity. Sigma Chi announced that its three accused members would be expelled until the judicial process concluded and that it had temporarily suspended its activities at the university.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office announced that the investigation had uncovered an organized drug distribution network alleged to operate around the university. The judicial process concerning the accused individuals is ongoing.
