A safety warning was issued regarding compressible toys popular among children and teens in the United States. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that some toys containing beads that expand when exposed to water could pose a serious danger to children.

While deciding to recall two different toys, the agency also urged that another product with similar features not be used.

Among the recalled items were Squeezy Dumplings sold by GIHNJSI and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys branded by OKK Trading.

Small Beads Can Pose a Life-Threatening Danger

According to the CPSC's warning, the water beads inside the toys can expand in a child's body when swallowed. It was noted that the beads can particularly cause blockages and suffocation in the intestines.

Such incidents can lead to severe pain, vomiting, and dehydration, and in some cases may pose a life‑threatening risk.

Thousands of Toys Being Recalled

Approximately 8,000 units of Squeezy Dumplings sold by GIHNJSI are being recalled. It was noted that these toys were offered for sale on Amazon in May and June.

It was reported that toys featuring cartoon‑like faces and pearl‑like details are sold in packaging shaped like bamboo steamers. In the packaging"SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS" and "SQUEEZE ME"appear in the statements.

It was announced that approximately 7,200 units of Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys sold by OKK Trading will be pulled from the market. It was noted that the products were offered for sale in third‑party stores across the United States between May and August.

These toys also contain cartoon faces and speckled particles, and in the packaging they include“Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION“ was conveyed that includes the statement

Do not use your toy if you have one

CPSC asked consumers who have recalled toys to remove the products from locations where children cannot reach and destroy them.

The agency placed a permanent marker on the toy and packaging “RECALLEDi.e.“RECALLED”recommended writing the statement and then disposing of the product in the trash.

It was stated that consumers could receive a full refund if they send a photo showing the product's destruction to the relevant companies. So far, no injuries have been reported due to the two products in question.

More Urgent Warning for a Product

The CPSC also warned consumers about a similar product called Squishy Bun Toys sold by Ivyapingdianpu.

It was stated that these toys, which contain water beads, do not meet mandatory toy safety standards. It was also reported that the manufacturer did not agree to recall the product or offer a solution to consumers after the violation report was sent to the agency.

It was recorded that the approximately 100 units were sold through Amazon and other sellers in June.

The CPSC asked consumers not to allow children to use the toys if they owned them and to destroy the products. The agency also called for any injuries or defects related to the toys to be reported to them.
