Folk Festival in Divane, NJ: A Joyful Performance by Soso Brothers

The "Turku and Halay Night", which brings together the beloved melodies of Turkish music and traditional halay culture, was held at Divane Live Music & Restaurant in New Jersey.

At the program held at Divane in Cliffside Park, Direncan Gündeş, Soso Kardeşler, pianist Ömür Ersoy, and master of the mey, flute, and balaban Saver Yılmaz took the stage. The host of the evening was Özgür Güzel, who joined Soso Kardeşler’s team.

There Was No Room Left at Divane

At the event that attracted great interest from Turks living in New Jersey and surrounding areas, Divane’s hall was completely full.

Guests who soothed their homesickness with folk songs came together shoulder‑to‑shoulder in halay dances as the lively melodies began.

The bağlama’s warm tones, together with the piano, mey, flute, and balaban’s distinct sounds, reached a fever pitch when the drums and zurna were heard.

The entertainment that stretched from the opening minutes to the last moments made participants feel as if they were at a Turkish folk song and dance night in Turkey.

Soso Brothers Set the Stage Ablaze

Having closely acquainted themselves with Turkish weddings, henna nights, and special events in America, Soso Brothers left their mark on the evening with energetic performances. With melodies accompanied by drums, zurna, and mey, the team lifted guests to their feet and turned Divane into a huge dance floor.

Since 2015, Soso Brothers, who have taken the stage in various U.S. states, fuse traditional drum‑zurna culture with modern stage flair. In their performance at Divane, the group earned full marks from the audience for their high energy and commanding stage presence.

Direncan Gündeş breathed life into beloved folk songs with his bağlama and powerful rendition, while pianist Ömür Ersoy enriched the evening’s musical tapestry with his performance. Saver Yılmaz added a distinct hue to the program with the mey, flute, and balaban, each echoing Anatolia’s heritage.

Özgür Güzel crowned the night’s sovereignty

Özgür Güzel, who joined the Soso Kardeşler team as a server, kept the tempo of fun alive with his energetic presentation. Güzel, who forged a strong bond between artists and guests, will now also take a place in Soso Kardeşler’s programs with the server identity.

Özgür, who recorded the lively moments of the event, the stage performances, and the colorful images of the crowd filling Divane, became one of the key figures both on stage and behind the camera.

The night, which began with Turkish songs and continued with lively dances, provided entertainment that will be remembered for a long time by the Turkish community living in New Jersey.
