The family-run restaurant stated in its announcement that the closure decision stemmed from ‘rental conditions beyond its control.’
The restaurant’s final service date, July 18, has been announced, with live music events scheduled before the closure.
The statement released by the establishment emphasized the bonds formed with customers over the years and thanked the community for its support.
Closing due to a dispute over rent
Istanbul Grill’s general manager, Şahin Zaghibi, speaking on behalf of the family, said that over the past three to four years, they had faced various issues with the property owner and ultimately had to decide to shut down the business.
Following the closure announcement, hundreds of thank-you and farewell messages reached the establishment, Zaghibi noted. He described the restaurant as a celebration and gathering place for many families over the years.

Istanbul Grill was opened in 1998 in Rice Village by two brothers who migrated from Turkey to Houston.
The restaurant served as a representative of Turkish cuisine in the area with its menu featuring Turkish pizza, lahmacun, kebab varieties, and traditional appetizers.
Business owners said they were evaluating options to relocate the restaurant to another location but had not yet finalized any plans.
