Jake Lang's anti-Islam demonstration turned violent.

In Minneapolis, United States, far‑right provocateur Jake Lang, who staged an anti‑Islamic and racist protest, organized a demonstration in front of the Minneapolis City Hall on August 22 with six others.

Police said the group had breached security barriers with vehicles, stepped onto the sidewalk, and moved toward the area where counter‑protesters were located.

During the ensuing clash, the parties sprayed pepper spray at each other while various objects were thrown at the vehicles. In footage shared on social media, a counter‑protester in a Spider‑Man costume was seen leaping onto Lang’s vehicle and punching him.

While Lang and his six companions were detained, four additional people were arrested around the city hall, bringing the total to 11. Three police officers were injured in the incident.

He had previously staged provocations against the Qur’an.

Known for his anti‑Islamic rhetoric, Lang had also come to prominence for attempting to burn the Qur’an in Michigan. During the August 18 demonstration, when he tried to set the Qur’an on fire, a counter‑protester seized the book from his hands.

Lang, 6 January 2021 was among those suspected of the Congress raid and after spending about four years in prison, was released on parole in 2025.
