In the GoFundMe campaign launched for the family of Lindsay Clancy, who is accused in the U.S. of killing his three children, about 31,000 people donated $1,014,000. The campaign's goal was set at $2 million.
Lindsay Clancy admitted responsibility for the deaths of 5‑year‑old Cora, 3‑year‑old Dawson, and 8‑month‑old Callan in 2023.
His defense argues that the murders were committed during postpartum psychosis and that Clancy bears no criminal liability.
The prosecution, however, maintains that Clancy acted rationally before the incident and planned the murders.
A verdict from the jury is expected.
The court is assessing whether Clancy suffered a level of mental illness that would eliminate his criminal responsibility during the incident.
It was noted that both sides consulted different psychiatric experts during the hearing. After the closing statements this week, the file is expected to go to the jury.
