According to a report by the Kathmandu Post, officials said an avalanche had fallen in the summit area after heavy rain and snowfall. It was reported that no word had been received from the 10 people, comprising climbers and support staff, following the avalanche.
Landslides and Floods Also Claim Lives
Natural disasters caused by adverse weather conditions also occurred in various parts of Nepal. In the landslide that took place in the Palpa region, at least one person lost their life while two others went missing.
In the Parbat region, a flood resulted from a river overflow. Officials stated that approximately 80 houses were damaged by the flood.
Search and Rescue Operations After the Disasters in Nepal
In the country, a large number of regions have been affected recently by floods, landslides, and other natural disasters. In the flood that occurred on 26 August in the Rasuwa region, many bridges were destroyed and roads also suffered significant damage.
It was reported that the death toll in the incident exceeded 1,400. Helicopters were dispatched to the area to support search and rescue operations.
