Surprise of 'Hakan Fidan' in New York
In a video filmed in New York, police units shut a street to vehicles and pedestrians, and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was seen stepping out of a car. The footage went viral on social media after author Gönül Tol posted it.
In the video shared from author Gönül Tol's social media account, police in New York are seen closing a street and not allowing pedestrians to pass.
Tol said in the post that while walking to his hotel, police units cut him off, and that pedestrians responded, "You have closed the whole street, where will we go?"
At that moment, Hakan Fidan got off.
Tol, noting that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan got off from one of the vehicles, wrote that he asked the police when the road would open and received the reply "God knows".
Tol, recounting the incident in a humorous tone, used the phrases "We’re still here for a while, let me explain Turkish politics from the front to the pedestrian friends."

Hakan Fidan held various meetings in New York on 21‑23 September as part of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Fidan participated in a large number of bilateral and multilateral meetings during the period.
