Attacked at Night
According to information released by the NYPD, the incident occurred around 3:15 AM on Saturday in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, near the intersection of 15th Street and Fifth Avenue.
Police sources say the 38‑year‑old woman was walking on the street when a suspect approached from behind. The attacker, who pushed her onto the curb, allegedly sexually assaulted her.
The suspect fled the area on foot after the incident. As of Sunday afternoon, authorities reported that the attacker had not yet been apprehended.

Security Camera Footage Shared
After the attack, the NYPD, which launched the investigation, released footage of the suspect from security cameras and began work to identify him.
According to the police description, the suspect was last seen wearing a black T‑shirt, gray shorts, a beige hat, and black‑and‑white sneakers.
Officials are continuing to review security cameras in the area and investigate in order to locate and arrest the attacker.
Increase in Sexual Offense Cases in the Area
Police data for the area where the incident occurred also drew attention. According to NYPD data, the number of sexual offense cases recorded by the police unit responsible for the area rose by 8.1% compared to the same period last year.
