Rockstar Games officially confirmed that the gameplay footage circulating for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) belongs to the game.

Since August 19, a hacker group called “Cyberleek” had shared various videos, claiming the footage was taken from a playable version of the game. Rockstar sent copyright notices for the shared content after the leaks but had not issued a statement on the matter.

Statement from Rockstar on GTA 6

In its statement, the company said the leaks were a huge disappointment for the team and announced that the game's development process was almost complete.

Rockstar also announced that an extended new look video for GTA 6 would be released on August 27.
