In Miami, Florida, a city linked to the United States, an incident involving a person who had been out of prison for only three days before being taken back into custody turned into dramatic scenes.

The incident occurred at a Starbucks outlet in Mary Brickell Village, a shopping district in downtown Brickell.

According to reports, Charles, whose behavior sparked panic among staff and patrons, later climbed onto a chair. It was alleged that the suspect grabbed a chair inside the store and shattered the front glass door.

A security guard sustained an arm injury.

When the incident escalated, a security guard attempted to intervene against Charles. The police report recorded that the officer suffered an arm injury during the altercation.

It was alleged that the suspect, who left the store, also damaged nearby vehicles. The owner of a nearby truck reported to police that his vehicle’s trunk lid was damaged, and investigators said they found footprints believed to have been left by Charles while climbing onto the truck.

When Miami police arrived at the scene, they found Charles lying on the roof of a passing car near Southeast Ninth Street and Brickell Plaza. The suspect was taken into custody around 08:00 in the morning.

Sent back to prison.

After being taken into custody, Charles was transported to a hospital by medical teams, and once procedures were completed, he was transferred by Miami-Dade County officials to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Charles was charged with one physical assault and two property damage offenses. It was reported that the legal process regarding the incident is ongoing.

He had been released three days earlier.

Court records revealed that Charles had left prison shortly before the latest incident. After being taken into custody by Miami police on July 19, Charles was charged the following day with large-scale theft and burglary for unlawful entry with intent to steal.

The court had set a $5,000 bail for Charles, who was released on his own promise on August 21. The incident at Starbucks occurred just three days after his release.

In reports based on court records, the local press said Charles’s arrest history in the Miami‑Dade area stretched back to a marijuana possession case he was involved in at age 19. The records also indicated that he had convictions for assault, disorderly conduct, unlawful entry, and resisting arrest.

Some of the footage was captured on a witness’s cell‑phone camera, and the images were later released by local media outlets. The court will issue the final decision on the allegations against Charles.
