Türkiye’s national football team arrived in the U.S. for the World Cup
The national team, which will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reached Florida in the U.S. to begin its training camp. Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington, Sedat Önal, and Miami Consul General Resul Şahinol welcomed the national delegation at the airport.
The Turkish national football team, which will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, arrived in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, U.S., aboard a special flight departing from Istanbul.
The delegation was greeted at the airport by Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington, Sedat Önal, the Miami Consul General, Resul Şahinol, and the TFF U.S. Regional Representative, Çağrı Kanver.
The president of the Turkish Football Federation, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, and board members also joined the delegation.
After the welcoming ceremony at the airport, the national team proceeded to its accommodation hotel. The delegation was greeted by Turkish supporters waving flags and cheering at the hotel entrance.
A friendly match against Venezuela will be played.
The Turkish national team will face Venezuela in its final preparation match ahead of the World Cup. The match will take place at Chase Stadium, the Inter Miami’s home stadium.
Following this encounter, the national team will conclude its training camp in Florida and move to Mesa, Arizona.
Their first opponent is Australia.
Türkiye is in Group D alongside the United States, Australia, and Paraguay for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In their first tournament match, the A Milli Team will face Australia in Vancouver, Canada, at BC Place Stadium.
