Attack that blinded a guard in the U.S.: Total 90 years in prison
Canadian citizen Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy, who received a 40-year prison sentence for planning a mass terror attack in New York, was sentenced to an additional 50 years in prison for attacking two guards in prison. In the attack, one of the guards lost his right eye.

El Bahnasawy, 28, from Ontario, Canada, attacked two correctional officers at the Allenwood Federal Penitentiary in Pennsylvania in December 2020.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bahnasawy injured two correctional officers with a homemade knife fashioned from a steel bar in his cell. One of the officers on duty lost an eye.
The total prison sentence was extended.
On October 19, it was announced that the new sentence, to be implemented following the 40-year prison term Bahnasawy received for plotting ISIS-inspired attacks in New York that could have caused mass casualties, would take effect.
U.S. Department of Justice and FBI officials underscored that the attack was carried out in the name of ISIS ideology, emphasizing that those responsible for terror-linked violent acts must be held accountable.
