Cemile Başgül, who lives in the United States, described the Rover and Uber experiences she tried in the ninth month of her unemployment to earn extra income in a video post from her social media account.
Başgül compared the earnings of the two platforms and shared with her followers which job paid more per hour.
She Took Her First Job on Rover
Başgül, who mentioned she had previously registered with Rover, said she reactivated her account and took her first job on Monday.
Başgül explained that Rover, which offers pet‑sitting services, lets users go to their homes and care for animals, and said that services such as dog walking or hosting animals in their own homes are available.
Her first job's 30‑minute “drop-in visitBaşgül, who said it was '…', said she took a short walk with the dog, then played games, and left the house after checking the food and water.
She said that from this job, which she does four days a week, she earns $27.2 per hour after the app commission is deducted.
Hourly Earnings on Uber Remain Lower.
Başgül also compared the Rover experience with Uber. She said she did one day of Uber during busy weekday hours and earned about $23.1 per hour based on the time she worked on the app.
However, noting that the difference between the two jobs should not be evaluated solely on the time spent on the app, Başgül said that when she included travel time for the Rover job, her earnings equated to about $11.66 per hour.
At Uber, Başgül said she was outside for about 4 hours, including breaks for necessities, and that her hourly earnings were about 18,80 dollars.
She also reminded that fuel costs would be deducted from her Uber earnings.
"Absolutely prefer Rover"
Despite the earnings comparison, when asked which job she would choose, Başgül said she would prefer Rover.
Başgül,"It feels more comfortable. I hang out with the dog and I also get to do my walk."He said that Rover itself is more enjoyable for him.
The post attracted attention on social media about the platforms Americans use to earn extra income and the actual earnings from these jobs.
