Project attracting student attention: volunteer activities on a single platform
Prof. Dr. Olcay Yavuz, a Turkish academic continuing his studies at the University of Connecticut, announced a new digital platform designed to enable students to more regularly track their social responsibility and volunteer work. The My Award Tracker website, developed by students in the US, records volunteer activities. Congressional Gold Medal applications will be held in December.

In ABD, students developed My Award Tracker based on their own needs, designed to record volunteer work and social activities in an organized manner. Thanks to the platform, students can consolidate the volunteer work they do, the social responsibility projects they participate in, the hours of activity, and the achievements they earn into a single digital account. Verification of recorded work and presenting it as a document when necessary is also possible. Turkish academic Prof. Dr. Olcay Yavuz highlighted the platform's use by announcing this project developed by students.

Congressional Altın Madalya Applications in December
Olcay Yavuz also commented on the ABD Kongresi Altın Madalya Programı (Congressional Gold Medal), one of the important opportunities for students. Yavuz reminded that applications would be made in December, sharing the message, "We are submitting Congressional Altın Madalya applications in December."
The Congressional Award program, supported by ABD Kongresi, rewards young people's work in volunteer service, personal development, physical activity, and exploration. Registration can begin at age 13.5; participants must finish their activities before age 24.
Volunteer Hours Carry Importance on the Path to the Medal
Young people aiming to reach the program's Gold Medal level must complete 400 hours of volunteer public service, 200 hours of personal development, and 200 hours of physical activity. Additionally, a minimum of 24 months of activity duration and an exploration event requirement must be met.
My Award Tracker stands out as an independent platform that helps students track the activities and hours they carry out during this process. The newly developed site is not the official application system of the Congressional Award Foundation; it serves as a separate tool that assists students in organizing their records. Official applications, however, are made through Congressional Award's own system.
What Does My Award Tracker Offer?
The platform called My Award Tracker enables students to track their volunteer work, social responsibility projects, leadership activities, and various events from a single account.
Through the platform, students can record the activities they carry out with date and time information. Additionally, the verification of volunteer work by supervisors via email, as well as uploading evidence such as photos and documents, is also possible.
It can also be used for university applications and scholarships.
One of the platform's standout features is its ability to convert the activity records students accumulate into documents that can be used in university applications and scholarship processes.
My Award Tracker not only enables students to regularly record their volunteer hours, but also their achievements, leadership experiences, and progress in award programs. The system provides verified activity records as PDF documents containing QR codes.
Free Trial for Students
According to information on the platform's website, My Award Tracker can be used free of charge with all features for the first 30 days. The annual fee for the Individual Plus membership is specified as $9.99. Different membership options are also available for schools, student clubs, and other organizations.
This student initiative introduced by Turkish academician Olcay Yavuz draws attention to American students recording their volunteer work and creating regular activity portfolios for their academic futures.
