When Will Social Security Payments Be Credited in the U.S.
The November Social Security payment schedule that millions of people in the U.S. have been waiting for has been announced! The dates for payments that Turkish citizens and Green Card holders can also benefit from under certain conditions are changing. Some beneficiaries will receive their money earlier than expected. So, on which day will money be deposited into whose account?

The schedule for Social Security payments that millions of people in the United States rely on for their livelihood has been announced for November 2026. Retirement, disability, and survivor payments made by the Social Security Administration (SSA) will be deposited into beneficiaries' accounts on the specified dates.
Payment dates vary according to individuals' birthdays and the period when they began receiving Social Security benefits. It is noteworthy that some payments will be made earlier than usual in November due to public holidays and weekends.

Turks in the United States can also benefit from these payments.
Social Security payments are not limited to native-born American citizens. Turkish citizens living in the United States who meet the required legal conditions can also benefit from the system.
In addition to Turkish citizens who have obtained American citizenship, Green Card holders and some Turkish citizens who have legally worked in the United States and accumulated sufficient Social Security credits also qualify for retirement payments.
In the United States, earning the right to retire typically requires 40 work credits, which corresponds to roughly ten years of insured employment for most people. However, different work conditions may apply to disability and survivor benefits.
In the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program for low‑income seniors and people with disabilities, there are different eligibility criteria related to income, assets, age or disability status, as well as citizenship and immigration status.
Thus, the November payment schedule directly concerns a specific segment of the Turkish community in the United States.
On What Dates Will Payments Be Made in November?
According to the Social Security Administration’s payment system, payments for those who began receiving aid before May 1997 are usually made on the 3rd of each month.
After May 1997, the majority of new beneficiaries have their birth dates used as the basis for payment dates.

The payment schedule announced for November 2026 is as follows:
Tuesday, November 3: Those who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997. Tuesday, November 10: Those whose birthdays fall between the 1st and 10th of the month. Wednesday, November 18: Those whose birthdays fall between the 11th and 20th of the month. Wednesday, November 25: Those whose birthdays fall between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Payments normally made on the second Wednesday of the month were moved to Tuesday, November 10, because November 11 falls on Veterans Day, a federal holiday in the United States.
Thus some beneficiaries will receive their November payments one day before their usual schedule.
SSI benefits will be deposited on October 30.
In the United States, a different schedule applies to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments made to low‑income seniors and individuals who meet certain disability criteria.
SSI benefits are normally deposited on the first day of each month. However, if that day falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the payment is made on the preceding business day.
Because this year's November 1 falls on a Saturday, the SSI payments for November will be credited to accounts on Friday, October 30.
This means that beneficiaries will be able to receive the November aid before the end of September.
However, the early payment does not imply extra assistance for individuals; it merely highlights that the payment date for November has been moved up.
Key Detail for Green Card Holders
One of the most frequently asked questions among Turks living in the U.S. is whether Green Card holders will be able to benefit from this aid.
Simply obtaining a Green Card does not grant the right to receive Social Security retirement benefits; the individual must have accrued the required work credits and meet other eligibility criteria.

On the other hand, the SSI program is subject to different rules than retirement benefits. Additional restrictions and waiting periods, tied to immigration status, may be applied to individuals who are not U.S. citizens.
Therefore, Turkish citizens living in the U.S. should verify which program they qualify for directly through the Social Security Administration.
What Should Be Done If Payment Is Not Made to the Account?
The Social Security Administration advises individuals who have not received their payment by the specified date to contact banks first.
In some cases, even when payments are sent on time, delays can occur due to the banks' processing procedures.
If the issue persists after a discussion with the bank, the rights holders can file a complaint with the Social Security Administration.
For delayed, lost, or stolen payments, you can call the SSA line at 1-800-772-1213. Individuals with hearing or speech impairments can receive assistance from the TTY line at 1-800-325-0778.
Rights holders can also apply by visiting their nearest Social Security office.
SSA says it will review applications and, if it determines that a payable amount has not reached the rights holder, it will take the necessary steps.
A Crucial Calendar for the Turkish Community
For Turks who have worked in the U.S. for many years, earned retirement rights, or benefit from specific social assistance programs, Social Security payments can constitute a significant source of income.
For those who rely on these payments to cover rent, health, bills, and day‑to‑day living expenses, the exact date the money is deposited into their account is of great importance.
Due to some payment dates changing in November, it is recommended that rights holders check their bank accounts and keep track of their own payment dates.
