15,000 Dollar Support for Turkish Youth's University Dreams in the U.S.
15,000 Dollar Support for Turkish Youth's University Dreams in the U.S.! In partnership with the American Turkish Women's Association and Turkish Philanthropy Funds, a meaningful scholarship campaign has been launched for graduates of the New York Atatürk School. The campaign, which will double the collected donations, aims to strengthen Turkish youth's educational journey.

In the city of New York, a significant educational initiative for future generations of the Turkish‑American community was launched. The American Turkish Women’s Association (ATKB/TWLA), combining forces with the Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF), has started a scholarship campaign aimed at supporting the university education of graduates of the New York Atatürk School.
The program announced under the name "TWLA–TPF Changemaker Scholarship" aims not only to support students’ educational expenses but also to encourage them to develop into individuals with leadership skills who benefit society.

Every Dollar Donated Will Double!
The campaign’s most striking feature is that donations made by the Turkish‑American community will be matched, effectively doubling them.
In the first phase, the goal is to raise $7,500 with community support. If this target is met, Turkish Philanthropy Funds will contribute an equal amount, raising the total scholarship fund to $15,000.
Thus, the donations from supporters will, with TPF’s contribution, provide double the value of support for students’ education.
Berna Gürdal's Call for Solidarity to the Turkish-American Community
At the opening of the 2026-2027 academic year at New York Atatürk School, President of the American Turkish Women Association Berna Gürdal, who spoke about the scholarship campaign announced, called on the Turkish-American community for support.
Gürdal, who emphasized the importance of continuing the educational journey that began at Atatürk School into university years, stressed that every contribution to the future of young people holds great value.

Gürdal, recalling the proverb 'Drop by drop, a lake forms', said that every donation, big or small, is important in reaching the common goal. He especially invited student parents and all members of the Turkish community living in the United States to contribute to the campaign.
Support Extending from Turkish Language and Culture Education to University
With a history of more than half a century, New York Atatürk School helps Turkish children growing up in the United States learn their mother tongues, learn Turkish history, and maintain ties with their cultural identities.
The new scholarship program aims to extend the support provided to the school's graduates into their university years.
The program will also encourage strengthening leadership skills, participation in volunteer activities, and contributions to the community where the youth were raised, alongside academic development.
Unity for the Future of Youth
The campaign carried out in partnership with ATKB and TPF aims to strengthen the solidarity of the Turkish community living in the United States in the field of education.
The creation of the targeted $15,000 fund will depend on reaching the first-stage goal of $7,500 through community donations.
The initiative, which seeks to help the university aspirations of young people raised learning Turkish at the New York Atatürk School, also aims to serve as a meaningful example of solidarity that the Turkish‑American community will leave for future generations.
