The Turkish astonishment that could not be concealed in the ABD: I still haven't gotten used to...
A Turkish social media user living in the ABD recounted the daily habits he encountered in America that he considered different from Türkiye. The user, who shared a wide range of details — from being able to withdraw cash at markets to the simultaneous serving of sweets and salt on the same plate, from bus stops to various apps — said he still hasn't been able to adapt to some of them.

A social media user named ezzzooooo, living in the United States of America, shared with his followers the various applications and habits that catch his eye in everyday life in the country.
"Everyone in America is abnormal, but the things I said 'What is this?' when I first arrived"The user who began his post with those expressions highlighted four different topics in particular.
ATM-like Cash Withdrawal at the Market Checkout
The first feature that caught the user's attention was cashback.
The user explained that when paying with a debit card at market checkouts, customers could be asked, 'Would you like cashback?' and said that when he first arrived he did not understand what the feature meant.
In the system, a customer can withdraw a certain amount of cash from their account in addition to the purchase amount. This allows them to take cash from the cashier at suitable stores without having to locate an ATM.
Market Employees Bag Products
The second issue that drew the user's attention was the bagging service in supermarkets.
A social media user who noted that the staff at the cashier in many markets bag the products purchased by customers said they liked the practice.
"Thank you, America, I loved this service" he said.
Bus Rope System
Thirdly, he talked about the rope-based stop request system used on some buses in the United States.
In Turkey, the system that works like passengers pressing a button to stop has ropes that extend to different points on the bus. When a passenger approaches the stop where they will get off, they can pull the rope nearest to them to request a stop.
The user explained that thanks to this system, they were able to wait for the bus to stop without having to go to the door while it was moving.
Sweet and Salty on the Same Plate
The latest issue the social media user said they still couldn't get used to was the serving of sweet and salty foods together in American breakfasts.
The user, who described how eggs, potatoes and fruit, as well as pancakes and sausage patties, can be served on the same plate at breakfast, considered the combination of pancakes, syrup and sausage together to be a difficult-to-get-used-to mix from their perspective.
But of course these are completely normal for Americans. There are still a few things I haven't gotten used to.By saying that, the user's video that shared his experiences brought back into focus the different aspects of daily life in the U.S. compared to Turkey.
