Delta Postpones Atlanta-Riyad Flights to March 2027!
U.S.-based Delta Air Lines postponed its direct Atlanta-Saudi Arabia flights to March 2027 following attacks on Riyadh Airport.

U.S.-based airline Delta Air Lines has postponed the direct flights it planned to launch from Atlanta to Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh. The first flight was scheduled for October 23, 2026, but the company changed the new flight date to March 2027. The decision cited the impact of security conditions in the Middle East.
Riyadh Airport Became Target of Attacks
The decision came after Iran-backed Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. According to Reuters' October 12 report, the weekend attacks killed many people and injured more than 300. Officials said the airport would remain closed until October 17 as part of security measures.

Security Warning from U.S. Aviation Authority
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned American airlines to exercise caution on flights to Saudi Arabia and over the country's airspace due to risks from military activity and navigation system interference in the region. Delta said passenger and crew safety remains a priority in its operational decisions.
Option for Ticket Change and Refund for Passengers
Delta announced that passengers affected by the change in the flight plan can check their options via the company's website or mobile app. Passengers may request a new flight arrangement or a refund according to the ticket terms. When the Atlanta–Riyadh route is launched, it will be the first nonstop passenger flight from a U.S. airline to Saudi Arabia.
