Erdoğan will meet Trump in New York
It was announced that President Erdoğan and U.S. President Trump will meet in New York as part of the United Nations General Assembly.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to travel to New York next week for the UN General Assembly meetings.
The meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump is also planned to take place within the General Assembly agenda.
The two leaders had also held a phone call recently.
In the August 18 meeting, Turkey–U.S. relations as well as regional and global developments were discussed.
The F‑35 and defense topics were on the agenda.
Erdoğan and Trump’s most recent face‑to‑face meeting had taken place within the NATO Summit held in Ankara.
In the meeting, defence topics such as the F‑35 programme, engine supply for KAAN, and CAATSA sanctions against Turkey had come up.
