Storm could intensify rapidly! Warning of danger along U.S. coasts
The low-pressure system expected to be effective in the northeast of the United States could intensify rapidly over the Atlantic. Winds along the New England coast are expected to exceed 80 kilometers per hour, and in open water they could rise above 110 kilometers per hour.

A storm system expected to move across the U.S. Northeast toward the Atlantic could bring strong winds and hazardous seas in the region. Along with a cold front, the end of record temperatures and the onset of spring conditions are anticipated.
Storm Could Intensify Quickly Over the Atlantic
According to the FOX Forecast Center, the system could enter a bombogenesis phase, a rapid intensification defined by a drop of at least 24 millibars in the low-pressure center within 24 hours.
Some forecast models project that after the system moves over water, its central pressure could fall from around 1,000 millibars to the 970s, even reaching the 960s.
Strong Winds and Heavy Snow Expected Along the Coast and in Higher Elevations
Forecasts predict that wind speeds in parts of New England, including around Boston and New York City, could reach 65-80 km/h. Over the Atlantic and along Canada’s Atlantic coast, winds may exceed 95-110 km/h, bringing the risk of dangerous seas.
It is noted that due to the system staying away from the coast, the risk of storm surge and coastal flooding on east‑facing shores may be limited. Nevertheless, strong winds in open sea and coastal communities can pose a danger.
Cold air is expected to turn rain into sleet on the White and Green Mountains in northern New England. The Adirondack Mountains, northern New England, and northern parts of Maine are forecast to see 2.5–7.5 centimetres of snow.
