Fairytale-like Wedding in Georgia: Horses Get Married
A wedding was organized in Georgia for two horses named Eddie and Annie. The ceremony, in which vows were read and hooves were exchanged, came to life thanks to the children's idea.

Fortitude Farm, located in Milton, Georgia, USA, hosted an unconventional wedding this time. While guests gathered for a ceremony held for two horses named Eddie and Annie, the bride and groom also did not neglect eating the farm's plants during the ceremony. According to a CBS Atlanta report dated October 15, 2026, the event was carried out at the suggestion of children.

How Eddie and Annie's Story Began?
Eddie is a former racehorse known as the Manhattan Project. Annie is a brown‑white chestnut. The pair's story began at a center in Cobb County where horses undergo care and rehabilitation. Owner of Sunnybrook Stables, Grania Holman, explained that Eddie initially had no other horse to accompany him, and a special bond formed between them when Annie arrived.
Children Came Up With the Wedding Idea
Holman said the horses drew closer to each other and that children had suggested holding a wedding for them at a camp held last year. Thus the children's idea turned into a real ceremony in the fall of 2026. A special arrangement was prepared for the bride and groom; symbolic vows were read with a ceremony officer present.
They Swapped Rings for Peonies
Holman voiced Eddie's vows, and the person who took care of Annie's vows performed them. During the ceremony, instead of exchanging rings, the couple symbolically changed horseshoes. The ceremony was led by licensed religious official and horse owner Debora Selinger, who said that horses can be more sensitive in their relationships with humans than is commonly believed.
Their new home became Fortitude Farm.
Eddie and Annie will continue to live together at Fortitude Farm in Milton after their wedding. The non‑profit organization Red Heart provides lifelong care for aging, retired, rescued, or rehabilitated horses. The organization also runs volunteer work and summer camps aimed at teaching children horse care.
The horses' honeymoon plans have not yet been announced. However, for the farm's residents, Eddie and Annie's wedding was a special day that will be remembered for a long time...
