Toys "R" Us announced that it will open 120 new stores by the 2026 holiday season as part of its partnership with Go! Retail Group. The brand, which currently has 40 independent stores, will raise that number to 160 with the new investment.

Unlike the Toys "R" Us sections inside Macy's, the new stores will be entirely independent. The brand will also continue its operations in Macy's stores.

From toy shop to café: a new concept

The stores will sell toys, collectible items and gifts from brands such as LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Pokémon and KPop Demon Hunters. Some locations will also feature Creator Studios for content creators, candy shops and cafés.

Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and closed its remaining U.S. stores in 2018. The brand later returned to brick‑and‑mortar retail through its partnership with Macy's.
