In the Massapequa area of New York, a fire that broke out on Sunday evening made a two‑story house and its adjoining two‑story garage unusable.

Nassau County fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 18:21 for the fire on Clocks Boulevard. When the teams arrived, they saw the two‑story house and its adjoining garage completely engulfed in flames.

About 100 firefighters intervened.

Around 100 firefighters from Massapequa and surrounding areas responded to the blaze. The crews fought hard to bring the fire under control. As a result, the four residents of the house were left unable to use their home.

One firefighter was taken to hospital.

During the response, a firefighter was transported to hospital due to a possible heat stroke. Officials said no civilians were injured in the incident.

Special Team Arrives for Lithium Batteries in Garage

The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Hazardous Materials Unit was also among the teams that responded to the blaze. When the unit was dispatched, it was noted that lithium‑ion batteries in the garage were the cause.

Fire Cause Under Investigation

The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed. It was reported that the investigation, led by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office and the Nassau County Police Department Arson/Bomb Squad, is ongoing.
