In the NWS's initial assessments, the possibility that a waterspout formed in the Atlantic Beach waters and reached land was emphasized. Meteorological teams began examining damage and other data in the area to determine the nature of the event.

Major Damage at Beach Clubs
The storm's impact was clearly seen at the beach facilities in Atlantic Beach. Serious damage occurred at some businesses, including the Sun and Surf Beach Club. The Inwood Fire Department announced that dozens of beach cabanas in the area were damaged or destroyed.
One Employee Slightly Injured
Officials reported that a beach club employee was slightly injured during the incident. It was stated that the injured person declined to receive medical care at the scene. Firefighters also announced that no one was trapped in the facilities and that a rescue operation was not required.
Two Facilities Closed
Sun and Surf Beach Club and Silver Point Beach Club were closed until a second announcement due to the damage incurred. It was reported that security checks and damage assessment work were continuing at the venues.
Severe Rain Led to Flooding
The storm's effects were not limited to strong winds and possible tornadoes. Heavy rainfall in the area caused flooding in some locations. First‑responder teams worked to rescue people trapped in vehicles.
State of Emergency in Nassau County
Nassau County Manager Bruce Blakeman declared a state of emergency in the district following the weather event. The district's Emergency Operations Center was also activated. Officials said they were monitoring developments concerning the weather conditions and damage.
