The heavy downpour affecting New York City in the United States negatively impacted daily life. The rainfall, which intensified in a short time, caused flooding in many parts of the city.

With streets and avenues turning into a lake, drivers and pedestrians faced difficult moments, and serious disruptions also occurred in transportation. The city's major transit routes, the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and Queens Boulevard, were closed to vehicle traffic in both directions because of flooding.

The subway stations were flooded.

The heavy rain also affected New York's extensive subway network. Flooding occurred at many subway stations throughout the city.

Due to standing water and flooding, some subway lines had their services completely halted, while other lines experienced long delays. Citizens who wanted to use public transport struggled with the situation.

While teams responded to flooding in the affected areas, drivers were also warned to exercise caution on roads covered with water.

Sudden Flood Warning Issued

The U.S. National Weather Service issued a warning for certain areas of New York and neighboring New Jersey after the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

Officials said that severe storms and sudden floods could continue to affect the area for some time, urging residents to exercise caution.

A call was made for residents and motorists in flood-prone areas to heed meteorological warnings.
