New York Bryant Park Memorial with 2.753 Chairs for September 11
Bryant Park in New York will commemorate those who lost their lives with 2.753 empty chairs on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

In the United States, Bryant Park in Manhattan, New York, will host a special memorial program on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The park’s lawn will be fitted with 2,753 empty chairs to represent those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attacks.
Each Chair Will Represent a Life
In the planned memorial arrangement, each empty chair will symbolize a life lost in the attacks. Visitors will be able to place carnations on the chairs from 8:00 a.m. on the morning of September 11 and write remembrance notes for the deceased.
Donation Campaign for Carnations
Under the event, Bank of America announced it would donate $25 for each carnation left. Donations based on up to 3,000 carnations are planned to be divided among the NYPD, FDNY, and Port Authority PBA foundations.
25th Year Special Concert
The day's remembrance program will continue in the evening with a music event. The American Symphony Orchestra will hold a free remembrance concert at Bryant Park as part of the 25th anniversary of September 11. According to the park's official program, the concert will start at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m.
No Ticket Required
The concert will be open to the public and no tickets will be requested from those wishing to attend. Bryant Park announced that visitors can join the event by coming directly to the park. The program will include works by Aaron Copland, Gustav Mahler, and George Walker, as well as other orchestral arrangements.
Remembrance Program Can Be Watched Live
The event is planned to be available online for those who cannot attend in person. This way, the remembrance program held on the 25th anniversary of September 11 can be viewed from outside New York.
Bryant Park's archives also contain a record of a similar 9/11 remembrance consisting of 2,753 empty chairs. According to information released by the park, each chair at the 2011 event represented a person who lost their life in the World Trade Center attacks.

25th Anniversary of September 11
The program in 2026 is being organized because 25 years have passed since the September 11, 2001 attacks. In Bryant Park's official calendar, the American Symphony Orchestra concert scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, is listed under the title “25th Anniversary of September 11th.”
