A 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Panama! A tsunami warning was issued

The violent earthquake that struck Panama caused concern in the region. In initial statements the quake was said to be magnitude 8, but the magnitude was later updated to 7,6.

It was reported that the tremor was also felt in neighboring countries Colombia and Costa Rica.

Tsunami Alert Covered Many Countries

After the quake, a tsunami alert was issued for the coasts of Panama and Colombia. The scope of the warning was later expanded in a subsequent statement.

It was announced that the tsunami warning also covered Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Mexico.
