Fatal Traffic Accident in Queens: Young Woman Thrown from Vehicle!

On Saturday morning, a 23‑year‑old woman was killed in a traffic crash on Grand Central Parkway in Queens, New York City. The accident occurred at approximately 04:00 on the westbound lanes of the road.

The car collided with the barrier and the steering wheel.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) explained that the gray‑colored Honda Accord driven by 34‑year‑old Anthony Dickson had exited a control. The vehicle first struck a barrier on the side of the road, then collided with a streetlight before crashing.

Young woman fled a car

Police said that 23‑year‑old Arianna Arregui, who was in the back seat, was ejected from the vehicle due to the crash’s impact and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital by emergency crews, but could not be saved.

Accusation of Murdering a Driver

Police said that Dickson was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. Charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence were brought against Dickson. While the driver was uninjured in the crash, he was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

No Other Injuries in the Accident

According to NBC New York's report, there were three additional passengers in the vehicle and none of them were seriously injured. It was reported that Dickson and Arregui live in Brooklyn. In the initial statements after the crash, it was shared that a second vehicle was involved. However, the investigation revealed that only the Honda Accord driven by Dickson was involved in the accident.

Road Stayed Closed for Hours

After the crash, the westbound lanes of Grand Central Parkway were closed to traffic for several hours due to the investigation. The NYPD's traffic collision unit is conducting the inquiry.
