Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek gathered with U.S. investors in New York to explain the outlook of the Turkish economy and investment opportunities. Şimşek highlighted that Turkey offers significant opportunities especially in defense industry, tourism, medical tourism, television series, mobile games, and digital services exports.

Mehmet Şimşek met representatives of the U.S. business and investment world at the 19th Turkey Investment Conference organized in New York by DEİK/Türkiye-ABD İş Konseyi (TAİK).
In addition to Şimşek, Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Fatih Karahan also attended the “Türkiye’nin Ekonomik Görünümü ve Yatırım Fırsatları Toplantısı” organized in partnership with Citi during the conference.
The meeting covered developments in the Turkish economy, the implemented economic program, and investment opportunities.
Listed the Sectors Where It Sees Opportunities in Turkey
In Shimşek's remarks explaining the potential Turkey offers to U.S. investors, five areas stood out.
Shimşek said that Turkey has significant opportunities in defense industry, tourism, medical tourism, television series, mobile games, and other digital services exports.
It was particularly striking that creative and digital sectors such as television series and mobile games were highlighted alongside traditional sectors.

The areas highlighted by Shimşek illustrate Turkey's aim to focus not only on industrial and tourism investments but also on service and digital exports.
The reach of Turkish television series in international markets, Turkey's position in medical tourism, and the rapidly growing mobile game sector are highlighted as leading areas in service exports.
The defense industry stands out as one of the sectors in which Turkey has increased its export capacity in recent years and has become more visible in international markets.

Shimşek said at the meeting that Turkey's economy has maintained its resilience despite global and regional challenges, and that the country has strong foundations to withstand economic shocks.

In the New York meetings, the central message was to attract more direct investment to Turkey and to develop economic relations with the United States.
