Why Did the Trump Administration Halt New York's Energy Project?
New York Governor Kathy Hochul argued that the Trump administration's energy policies were hindering efforts to reduce costs in the state.

In the United States, New York Governor Kathy Hochul said that the Donald Trump administration is creating a barrier to the state's efforts to reduce energy costs. Hochul argued that the halting of projects aimed at increasing energy supply is negatively affecting consumers in New York.
In remarks on CBS News' New York political correspondent Marcia Kramer during the program "The Point," Hochul stated that the state is working on various projects to diversify its energy sources and bring down electricity prices.

The Wind Energy Project Covering 500,000 Homes in Brooklyn Has Been Stopped
One of the projects Hochul brought forward was an offshore wind energy investment planned to supply power to 500,000 homes in Brooklyn. The governor claimed that the project, which aimed to lower costs by boosting energy supply, was halted by the Trump administration's intervention.
Hochul said that the administration's decision undermines New York's goals to increase energy production. According to the governor, bringing new energy sources online plays a crucial role in reducing the high costs faced by consumers.
The Iran War and Customs Tariffs Are Affecting Gas Prices!
Hochul said that the rise in energy costs is not limited to state policies alone, and that international developments also affect prices.
Hochul, who argued that, in addition to the war in Iran, the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration have raised gasoline and diesel prices, said that these developments contradict the economic and energy policies being implemented in New York.
In his statement, the governor said, "The rise in gasoline and diesel costs, especially due to tariffs and the Iran war, undermines everything I am trying to achieve in New York."

1 Billion Dollar Energy Refund to New Yorkers
Hochul said that despite disputes with the federal administration, the state continues to fight high energy bills. He announced that a total of 1 billion dollars in energy refund checks has been sent to New Yorkers.
However, according to the governor, the financial assistance provided is not being felt by citizens to the extent expected due to the rise in energy costs.
Hochul criticized the approach of the Trump administration, as well as Trump supporters such as Republicans and Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman, toward the state's energy projects.
Hochul: If Energy Supply Increases, Prices Will Start Falling.
The New York Governor argued that if efforts to increase energy production are not impeded, prices could start falling earlier.
Hochul said that if the Trump administration and Bruce Blakeman stop blocking the state's efforts to create new energy sources, a drop in costs could be seen earlier.
The governor's remarks brought the debate over energy prices in New York, federal policies, and the state's renewable energy investments back to the forefront.
