The price of iPhones in Turkey has fallen to the world’s language!

Apple's new iPhone models' prices in Turkey have entered the agenda not only of Turkish users this time, but also of foreigners. While thousands of views were generated on social media for posts comparing iPhone prices across different countries, the striking difference between Turkey and the US created astonishment.

According to the data included in the “World Price Map” report dated August 2026 by Deutsche Bank, Turkey emerged as the country with the highest iPhone price among the 41 examined nations.

The report states that the iPhone 17 Pro, compared within the report, is sold in the US for approximately $1,181, while in Turkey it reaches a price equivalent to $2,592, meaning that the cost of the same device in Turkey exceeds twice that in the US.

The disparity is further widened in the foldable model.

In another comparison that has become a trending topic on social media, the price gap between countries is examined through Apple's foldable iPhone Duo model.

According to a comparison shared by India-based content creator Lakshya Lark, the device's price is about $2,000 in the United States, $3,100 in India, and rises to $4,700 in Turkey.

Within a week, the post, viewed over 950,000 times, also drew attention from users in various countries. Many social‑media users who saw the Turkish figure questioned the reason for the price difference.

Foreign users also shocked.

Posts about Turkish prices quickly spread to other accounts. A Nigerian social‑media user, while complaining about high phone prices in his own country, expressed surprise after seeing the price of the iPhone Duo in Turkey.

In the shared comparisons, it was suggested that a price of about $4,750 would be required for the 256‑GB model in Turkey. This figure drew numerous comments on social media when compared to U.S. prices.

IMEI registration fee also in focus.

The discussions were not confined to the prices of phones sold in Turkish stores. The IMEI registration fee required for phones imported into Turkey from abroad also entered the agenda of social media users.

According to the data shared by the analysis account The Market Mind, the registration cost, which was about 55 dollars in 2012 when evaluated on a dollar basis, is said to have reached approximately 1,200 dollars by 2026.

Thus, even in the option of purchasing a phone at a lower price abroad, the registration cost required for use in Turkey became a significant expense.

US–Turkey Difference on Social Media's Agenda

While taxes and other financial burdens play a significant role in the high prices of smartphones in Turkey, the gap between countries was reopened for debate with the new iPhone models.

However, this time the point that drew attention was that the debate crossed Turkey's borders. Comparisons made by users in countries such as the United States, India, and Nigeria brought the prices of iPhones in Turkey onto the agenda of international social media.
