Actor Beren Saat and musician Kenan Doğulu, after losing their homes in the great fire that struck Los Angeles in 2025, set out for a fresh start. The famous couple, said to have abandoned plans to rebuild their Malibu home on the same site, is now reportedly looking for a villa in Hollywood.

The Fire Turned Their Homes and Memories to Ashes

Beren Saat and Kenan Doğulu's life in Los Angeles was altered by the major fires that engulfed the region in January 2025. It was reported that the couple's Malibu home, valued at about $2.5 million, became completely unusable in the blaze.

The famous couple were not in Los Angeles during the fire. Kenan Doğulu, in a prior statement, said he learned via his helpers' phones that the house was burning while they regularly visited the villa for inspections and cleaning.

The fire not only destroyed the couple's home but also the many valuable and emotionally significant items they had accumulated over the years.

It was reported that Kenan Doğulu's professional music studio located at his home also burned completely. Along with the studio, valued at about 1 million dollars, some private recordings and 15 rare guitars collected over the years from various parts of the world were also lost, the statement said.

The couple's art collection, consisting of about 50 paintings and sculptures, could not be saved from the fire.

Among the losses were items of much greater sentimental value. It was also reported that Beren Saat's wedding dress worn at the couple's 2014 ceremony in Los Angeles, along with the wedding's photo and video archives, were destroyed in the fire.

After the loss, Kenan Doğulu expressed his sorrow in a statement, saying, 'What’s gone is not just the house. Some parts that will never return and our shared memories.'

The first plan was to build a new house on the same site.

After the fire, it was noted that the couple had a lengthy process with their American lawyers and insurance company. Initially, the plan was to have a new house built on the plot where the burned villa stood.

However, it was suggested that the couple later abandoned this plan.

According to information relayed by journalist Müge Dağıstanlı, after the insurance process was completed, Beren Saat and Kenan Doğulu decided to buy a new house in another part of Los Angeles rather than restarting the reconstruction on the same plot.

New Route Hollywood

It is said that the couple’s preferred area for a new address is Hollywood. It was suggested that Saat and Doğulu did not intend to leave Los Angeles entirely and had begun inspecting luxury homes around Hollywood.

While the prices of the villas the pair was looking at were reported to start at $3 million, it was noted that no definitive decision had yet been made on any property.

It is stated that the couple will start the purchase process if they reach an agreement on a villa they like.

Los Angeles holds a special meaning for Beren Saat and Kenan Doğulu. The couple, who began their relationship in 2012 and crowned it with marriage on 29 July 2014, also held their wedding on the Malibu coast.

After the fire, the couple lost their home, music studio, art collection, and wedding memories they had kept for years, yet their refusal to abandon Los Angeles amid all that happened drew attention.

It is noted that the high cost and lengthy process of rebuilding the burned house also influenced their decision to turn to Hollywood.
