Decision on Doctor Who Forgot His 10-Month-Old Grandchild in a Car in the USA
The grand jury did not file a complaint against the doctor alleged to have left his 10-month-old grandchild in a hot car in Kentucky, USA.

In the U.S. state of Kentucky, a grand jury decided not to file charges against 61‑year‑old doctor Stacey Fazenbaker, who came to attention after her 10‑month‑old grandson Scottie Gwyn Crowell died in a hot car. According to a statement from the Hopkins County District Attorney’s Office, the jury concluded that the file reviewed on October 27 did not contain sufficient probable cause to bring an indictment. With this decision, the possibility of criminal prosecution over the incident is closed at this stage.

Unfortunate Baby Stayed in Car for About 8 Hours
According to police records, the incident occurred in the city of Madisonville on August 13. Fazenbaker was supposed to drop her grandson off at the preschool in the morning. However, the doctor reportedly left the baby in the rear seat of the car and went to the Owensboro Health MultiCare health center where she worked around 8:00 a.m. The baby remained in the vehicle all day.

Temperature Inside Car Reached 46 Degrees
It was reported that on the day of the incident the outside temperature was about 35 degrees, while the interior temperature rose to 46 degrees. Around 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, the baby’s father learned that his daughter had not been left at the preschool when he tried to pick her up. He then called his mother, Fazenbaker. When the doctor went to the car, she found the baby unresponsive. Despite the efforts of the teams that arrived at the scene, the baby could not be saved.
The Prosecutor’s Office Stated That the Investigation Was Conducted Thoroughly
Hopkins County prosecutor Hannah Kington‑Jarvis announced that the Madisonville police conducted a comprehensive and impartial investigation. It was noted that the file was presented to the grand jury after the relevant evidence was collected. The office also stated that the baby’s parents were informed during the investigation and when the file was submitted to the jury.
Call for Family Support After Grand Jury Decision
Prosecutor Kington‑Jarvis said she could not provide further details about the decision due to the confidentiality of the grand jury process. She also noted that Scottie’s parents were continuing their mourning after the loss they had experienced, urging the public to consider the family and offer support.
