In the United States, a university student was thrown to the ground from the 8th floor.
Georgia University student Kristin Sargent, 21, was seriously injured after falling from a window on the 8th floor of an apartment building. It was reported that the young student survived the accident and is receiving treatment in intensive care.
The incident occurred in the city of Athens, Georgia, on Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m.
According to police reports, Sargent fell from the window sill while dancing on a sofa near an open window.
The young woman fell onto the pool area on the building’s second floor, striking a metal bench in the process. Witnesses said a lounge chair may have partially stopped the fall.
Police, after interviews at the hospital and on‑site investigations, assessed the fall as an accident. The investigation is ongoing.
Family rushed to the hospital.
It was learned that Sargent, who studied finance and marketing, suffered many broken bones in the fall.
Father Richard Sargent said that his daughter is in intensive care and, despite her severe condition, they consider themselves lucky that she survived.
Sargent's family, after the incident, went from their house in Virginia to Athens. The apartment management said it was cooperating with the investigation and wished for the student's swift recovery.
