During the hours when Netanyahu spoke at the UN, a notable crowd in Manhattan organized a protest march in support of Palestine and against Israel.
They set off from Bryant Park.
The demonstrators who gathered in front of the New York Public Library marched with slogans and banners.
The crowd filled 42nd Street.
The group, moving with drums and slogans, reached 3rd Avenue.
The NYPD cut them off.
The police barricade erected on 3rd Avenue prevented the march from continuing directly.
The route changed suddenly.
The crowd that couldn’t advance turned toward 47th Street and continued the march through side streets.
Step by step, they reached 1st Avenue.
The demonstrators moved from 47th Street to 2nd Avenue and then proceeded to 1st Avenue.
Just a few steps to the BM.
Because of the new barrier erected on 1st Avenue, the crowd could not get in front of the United Nations Headquarters.
Protest Continued Behind the Barrier
Rather than withdrawing, the demonstrators continued to voice their slogans and demands at their current location.
Attention-Grabbing Support Within the Crowd
It was observed that a large number of Hasidic Jews also joined the protest and supported the demonstrators.
