According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the incident occurred in the Northridge area, in the 18000 block of Nordhoff Street, near Reseda Boulevard.

Police teams dispatched to the area in response to a report encountered a large party with dozens of young people on the second floor of the shopping mall. Initial findings indicate that gunfire was heard following a dispute that took place.
Two Young People Lost Their Lives
Two people were shot and killed in the attack. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, but stated that both were aged 18 to 25.
Footage from the scene showed police teams evacuating those who joined the party from the building, and some youths being taken into custody after the incident. The area was sealed off with a security cordon and brought under investigation.

The attacker is being sought.
Police are pursuing a man suspected of being linked to the attack. However, the suspect's detailed identity and the motive of the attack have not yet been disclosed to the public.
It remains unclear whether the armed attack occurred inside one of the establishments in the shopping center or in the complex's shared usage area.
