According to a statement from the Chicago Police, the young girl was approached by a man she knew. Police said the suspect drew his gun and fired. After the attack, units were dispatched to the area.

In the armed attack, bullets struck a 16‑year‑old girl, who was injured in the back. Health teams reported that the young girl, taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, was in serious condition.
