Parking Lot Heist Attempt
On Friday evening around 18:30, a 64‑year‑old man was stopped by two suspects in a parking lot on the 400 block of East Illinois Street. Police said one of the suspects demanded the man's belongings, and after the man refused, the suspect drew a weapon and fired.
The man shot from the side was taken to Northwestern Hospital, and officials said his condition was good in the initial statement. The two suspects fled the scene.

Dispute Turned into Armed Attack
About 25 minutes later, as the hour approached 19:00, a 49‑year‑old man had a dispute with a known person at a house on the 7900 block of South Hermitage Avenue. Police said the suspect fired, striking the man's body in several places.
The 49‑year‑old man who suffered serious injuries was taken to Christ Hospital but later died. In the same incident, a 16‑year‑old girl was also shot in the leg and brought to the hospital, where her condition was reported as good. A person connected to the incident was taken to the police station for questioning.
Saturday 5 Separate Attacks
On Saturday at 00:15, an 18‑year‑old young man was shot by gunfire from a white SUV after approaching it on the 5300 block of West 64th Street. The young man, who was injured in the right leg and suffered a wound on the left hand, went to Holy Cross Hospital on his own and was reported to be in good condition.
At 01:39, a 47‑year‑old man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right leg. The man, who was in good condition, did not provide the police with information about the incident.
At 02:06, during a gun attack on the 4100 block of West 46th Street, a 21‑year‑old man and a 17‑year‑old boy were injured. Gunfire from inside a white sedan struck the 17‑year‑old victim in the left ankle, while the 21‑year‑old victim was hit on the face. Both were reported to be in good condition at the hospital.
The attacker who entered the house was killed.
At about 05:19, an unidentified man who entered a building on the 3000 block of North Lotus Avenue through the back door shot the 60‑year‑old man inside with a gun.
Responding teams determined that the 60‑year‑old victim had died. Police said the attacker fled after the incident and that no one else was injured.

14‑Year‑Old Child Shot in the Leg
On Saturday at 13:28, a 14‑year‑old boy was approached by two suspects while walking in an alley on the 4100 block of West 21st Place. Police said at least one of the suspects drew a handgun and fired.
The boy shot in the leg was taken to Stroger Hospital, where officials said he was in good condition.
According to information from Chicago police, suspects in some of the weekend attacks have not yet been apprehended. Police teams are continuing their investigations to identify the attackers, especially in incidents that resulted in death.
