CHP's new step in organizing in the United States
CHP, within its organizational efforts in the United States, established the CHP United States Association Presidency. While Emine Şahin Karakaşlıoğlu, who practices law in New York, is appointed to head the interim management, the association plans to hold a general assembly within six months.

With the authority document dated 7 October 2026 from CHP's headquarters, a six‑person interim board was appointed to establish the new structure in the United States and to convene a general assembly within six months.
In the management, alongside successful New York lawyer Emine Şahin Karakaşlıoğlu, Zeki Yeşilyurt, Sediye Yalçın, Burcu Yıldız Yenigün, Deniz Gündüz Vangilder, and Kebire Kayabaş were included.
Relations with the Turkish community in the United States are the focus.
In a statement issued by Birlik, it was said that the aim is to strengthen communication with Turkish citizens living in the United States and to support democratic participation.
In the coming period, meetings with citizens in various states are planned, as well as the development of relations with civil society organizations.

Karakaşlıoğlu, who works in New York especially in the field of American immigration law, said in his statement that, in line with CHP’s core values, he aims to strengthen the organized structure in the United States and to deepen ties with the Turkish‑American community.
