The Turkey U17 women's national team that took the field against the United States in pursuit of the title missed the trophy in the final, but by achieving a historic milestone, became world runners-up.

The Turkey U17 Women's National Volleyball Team finished the 2026 FIVB U17 Women's World Championship held in Chile with a silver medal. The moon‑star team became world runners‑up after a 3‑0 defeat to the United States in the final.

In the event held in Santiago, Chile's capital, from 6‑16 August, Turkey delivered a strong performance and earned a spot in the final. In the championship contest, the national team faced the United States.
Both teams started the final match at a high tempo. In the fiercely contested first set, the United States took the lead by winning 25‑23. In the second set, the United States took control of the game, bringing the score to 2‑0 with a 25‑11 win.

Turkey's success was also crowned with individual awards. In the national team, Zeynep Doğa Alpay was chosen as one of the tournament's best spikers, and Nejla Guzonjic as one of the best middle blockers, earning them a place in the championship's "Dream Team".

Thus the U17 Women's National Team capped the World Championship in Santiago with a silver medal, marking a significant international achievement.
