Kristi Noem files divorce case against her husband
Former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem filed a petition to divorce her 34‑year‑married husband Bryon Noem. The filing cites "irreconcilable differences" as the grounds for divorce.
According to court records, Noem filed for divorce on April 6, 2026, in the Hamlin County district of South Dakota. However, the file entered the online court system on September 28.
The couple, married in 1992, has three adult children.
It followed the reports about her husband.
The divorce filing came after the March publication of stories about Bryon Noem that focused on his alleged ties to certain online fetish communities.
The Daily Mail, in its story based on various messages and photographs, had published images of Bryon Noem in women's clothing and with prosthetic breasts.
Kristi Noem's spokesperson had said that the family had become shocked by the developments and had requested privacy.
Noem's lawyer said he would not make any further statements on the matter while the divorce proceedings continue.
