In the United States, at the Bellport LIRR station in the Long Island region of New York, a gun attack occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Friday. According to an MTA police statement, a 40‑year‑old man who was waiting for a train heading east on his bicycle was injured when one of four people who emerged from the station fired a gun as he boarded the train.

Injured Man Received Help at the Next Station

The man struck on the right shoulder remained on the train until the Mastic‑Shirley station. Police teams intervened there. After treatment, the man was discharged from the hospital.

Four Suspects Being Sought

After the incident, a search was launched to locate the four suspects who fled into the wooded area beyond the station. Police have not yet released the suspects' identities or aliases. MTA police are conducting drone searches, reviewing security‑camera footage, and speaking with passengers aboard the train to find the suspects.

Train Services Temporarily Halted

Due to police work, eastbound and westbound services on the Montauk line were temporarily suspended. Officials reported that the train services resumed at 05.14 on Friday morning.
