In a multi‑vehicle collision that occurred on Monday on the 405 Freeway in the Bel Air district of Los Angeles, California, United States, one person lost their life. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) closed some lanes on the northbound road to traffic.
Five vehicles involved in the crash.
The crash occurred at about 14:30 near the exit of Sunset Boulevard, just north of it. Initial reports say a total of five vehicles were involved in the collision. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) announced that one person lost their life in the accident.

One person sustained minor injuries.
Another person was also injured in the crash. Health teams reported that the condition of the person treated on site was minor. Officials asked drivers to consider alternative routes due to traffic congestion in the area.
Two lanes closed to traffic.
Following the collision, CHP shut two northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway to vehicle traffic. The lane closures caused transportation disruptions in the area.
