Accident in Brooklyn, New York: School Bus Strikes Apartment

In the United States, a school bus in Crown Heights, a neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York, veered off the road on Thursday morning and struck the entrance of an apartment building. The accident occurred near the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue around 07:30. Officials said only the driver was on the bus at the time of the crash. It was reported that there were no students on board and the driver was not seriously injured. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Security camera footage showed the bus veering onto the curb and moving toward the front section of the apartment. After the collision, the bus veered into the building's entrance area.

After the collision, the New York Fire Department (FDNY) evacuated the building's residents as a precaution. New York Buildings Department teams were also dispatched to the area to assess the structure's safety and the damage caused.

During the removal of the bus from the building, pieces fell from the structure's front façade. It was reported that, when the bus was lifted several hours later, a section of the building also came down with the vehicle, and a balcony fell to the ground.

Officials said the cause of the school bus's loss of control had not yet been determined. Police and the Buildings Department are continuing their investigation into the incident.
