Made Fresh Salads Inc., operating in the Bay Shore area of New York, recalled a large number of ready‑to‑eat deli‑style salads and cream cheese products due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that the recall was made public on September 6, 2026.

Sent to Brooklyn and Queens

According to the FDA’s statement, the recalled products were delivered directly to retail stores and distributors and distributed throughout Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and New York City. The items were sold in 5‑ and 30‑pound white plastic containers as well as half‑size aluminum trays.

Pay Attention to Expiration Dates

The labels of the recalled products list expiration dates ranging from September 3 to September 18, 2026. The FDA requests that the date information located in the lower section of the products be verified.

Many Products on the List

Within the recall, various types of potatoes, pasta, tuna, chickpeas, cabbage salad, and seafood salads are included, as well as various puddings, crab cakes, and potato croquettes. In the cream cheese group, there are different varieties such as strawberry, scallion, lox, jalapeño, vegetable, blackberry, and garlic.

May Be Divided Into Small Packages

Officials also warn that some products may have been divided into smaller portions by stores and resold in different packaging. Therefore, consumers should look not only at the brand name but also at the product's expiration date and other label information.

No Disease Reported So Far

According to statements from the FDA and the company, no disease cases have been reported so far related to the recalled products. Nevertheless, Listeria monocytogenes is considered a bacterium that can cause serious health problems, especially for young children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women.

Return Warning for Consumers

The FDA wants consumers who bought products under the recall to absolutely not consume them and to return them to the point of sale to receive a refund. Consumers who have questions about the products can reach Made Fresh Salads at 718-765-0082.
